Devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather
Reg Lyons, 96, died Thursday June 25, 2015
Reg was born Sep 8, 1918 in Houston, TX and was a graduate of St. Thomas High School. He was in the Air Force during WWII as a part of the 485th Bomb Group. During his time in Italy he was captured by the Germans and was in route to prison camp when his group managed to escape with the help of local farmers and guerrillas.
Reg had a long career with the USPS and retired in 1981. He loved fishing, visiting with family, telling stories of old and driving day trips to see the sights. He is survived by his 2 children - Beverly (Lyons) Baylor, Larry Lyons & spouse Kris; 3 grandchildren - Jim Baylor (Ileana), Carrie Bhamre (Neal), Chris Baylor (Cindy) and 1 step-grandchild - Matt McCoy (Amber); and 5 Great-Grandchildren, Sarah, Caley, Isabella, Cameron, Colin.
He has been preceded in death by his first wife, Oleta (Garrett) Lyons and second wife, Virginia (Daily) Lyons.
Memorial Services for Reg Lyons will be at Woodlawn Garden of Memories Cemetery on July 9, 2015 with Visitation at 10:00am, Service at 11:00am and Burial of cremains to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org or 855-448-3997
