Rene Hernandez Obituary
Rene Patrick Hernandez known by many as "Reenie" passed away on Monday, January 24, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. Rene was born to Miguel and Beatrice Hernandez on March 19, 1958 in Baytown, Texas. A great family man and friend, he will be remembered by all who met and spent time with him. With a smile on his face, he was always willing to help those in need. Rene loved cooking, golfing, playing his drums, and spending time with family and friends. Rene was a former member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo, Go Tejano Committee, and Goody Girls Barbeque Cook Off Team. He was also a member of the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Rene dedicated 32 years of his life working diligently as a loyal employee for NRG Energy.
Rene is preceded in death by his father, Miguel Hernandez, brother, Jimmy Hernandez, and sister, Beatrice Lopez.
He is survived by his beloved wife Lillie R. Aranda-Hernandez, his mother Beatrice Hernandez, daughter Kristen R. Hernandez, sons Aaron M. Hernandez, Christopher Aranda, and Steven Aranda and wife Karla, grandchildren Khloe K. Aranda and Brody Hernandez, sister Lucy Pantoja and husband Freddy, sister-in-law Juanita Hernandez, brother Frankie Hernandez and wife Denise, brother Mike Hernandez and wife Theresa, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.
A visitation with the family will be on Thursday, January 27, 2011, from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. at Advantage Howard-Glendale Chapel, 1015 Federal Road.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 28, 2011, at 12:00 P.M. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1124 Beech Street, Baytown, Texas, with Father Jesus Lizalde officiating.
Rite of committal will follow in Woodlawn Garden of Memories.

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness I feel for you on the loss of Rene, one of the best human beings that I was fortunate enough to know. Although no words can really help to ease the loss you bear, just know that you are very close in my thoughts and prayer. Had several opportunities to cook trail rides with Rene, Denise and Frank serving with the D&A committee. We worked hard, laughed hard and had a great time making others feel good. It was a privilege to work alongside Rene. You are already missed.

Lillie, I am so sorry for your lost. You and your family are in my prayers. I have several photographs of you and Rene dating back to 2000 forward. No matter the event or function, you two always, always had a blast. Rene had an awesome personality and I most remember you two dancing at every HELC and Black History gala for more than 10 years.
