Robert Friedman Obituary

Robert Harold Friedman On December 24th Robert Harold Friedman died peacefully after a long illness. He is survived by his wife Joy, his four children Leslie (Carl) Levy, Jonathan, Rachel and David (Michele) Friedman. He is also survived by his eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a sister and a large, loving extended family. Born in Sioux City, Iowa in 1924, Bob served in World War II as an aerial navigator. Later, he earned his PhD in chemistry and had a long and illustrious career in the oil industry that produced 51 patents. Throughout Bob's life, he devoted himself to numerous public, private, professional, and educational organizations. He was a member of Congregation Beth Yeshurun for 65 years and his Havurah for 41 years. Family and friends will always remember Bob's love of books, his incredible breadth of knowledge, his never ending sense of humor and his devotion to family. Graveside services will be held Tuesday December 27th, 1 p.m. at Beth Yeshurun Cemetery, 3502 Allen Parkway. Donations may be made in Bob's memory to the Jewish Federation of Houston, 5603 S Braeswood, 77096 or a charity of your choice.

Joy, I was saddened to hear about Bob. He was one of my favorite people at research. He had a remarkable inventive mind and was an all around teriffic gentleman. I am sure he will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Will Ledoux
