Robert Reinhold Stahlhut, 81, passed away on June 23, 2025 in Houston, Texas.
Bob was born on September 3, 1943 in Waterloo, Iowa to Reinhold William Stahlhut and Esther Mavis Kingsbury Stahlhut.
Bob graduated from East High School in Waterloo, Iowa in 1962. He enlisted in the U.S. Navy in 1962 and served until 1966. On August 28, 1966, Bob married Donna Schutte at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Waterloo, Iowa. After their marriage, Bob joined the 3-year Apprentice Draftsman program at the John Deere Waterloo Tractor Works. He graduated from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa in 1972 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Landscape Architecture and Urban Planning. After graduation, Bob and Donna moved to Texas where he began his career at Carter and Burgess Engineers and Planners in Fort Worth. Bob and Donna moved their family to Houston in 1976, where Bob eventually started his own company, Stahlhut and Associates, Inc. He retired in 2012 and passed on the business to his son Derek.
Bob is survived by his wife Donna; their sons Derek Stahlhut and Daniel Stahlhut; their grandchildren Jacob Stahlhut and Levi Stahlhut, all of Houston, TX; his brother Richard Stahlhut and wife Karen of Olathe, Kansas; and seven nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bob's name to the Epilepsy Foundation Texas – Carlisle Norwood Endowment Fund, 2401 Fountain View Drive, Ste. 900, Houston, TX 77057.
A service will be held at Memorial Oaks Funeral Home, located at 13001 Katy Fwy, Houston, TX 77079, on August 28, 2025, 2:00 pm, followed by a catered lunch.
