Robert Terry Obituary

ROBERT EDGAR TERRY, 74, born on April 5, 1931 in Fairfield, Texas to Paul Terry and Susan Pittman Terry, died tragically in a nursing home bus fire on September 23, 2005. Mr. Terry served in the US Navy. He was a graduate of Fairfield High School and attended the University of Houston. He was a member of Westbury Baptist Church. Bob, as he was known, first worked for Southern Pacific Rail Road where he met the love of his life, Betty Clark Terry who was from Monroe, Louisiana. He later worked and retired from Texaco. Mr. Terry was preceded in death by his wife, Betty; son, Steven Craig Terry; siblings, Paul B. Terry, Jr., Jack Pittman Terry, and Joy Terry Price; and niece, Joy Lynn Price. He is survived by son Mark Douglas Terry; sisters Margaret Terry Sledge Haverfield, Ruth Terry Coppinger, and Rebecca Louise Terry Robbins, and numerous nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews and two sister-in-laws. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6 until 8 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2005 at The Settegast-Kopf Co. Funeral Directors, 3320 Kirby Drive. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2005 in the Settegast-Kopf chapel. Private interment will follow at a later date at Forest Park Westheimer Cemetery.

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember your father as such a kind and friendly man. I grew up in your neighborhood and always remember that friendly smile and a wave your father would give us every time we passed your home. My thoughts and prayers are with you.
