Rob was a great person even though it has been many years since I have spoken to him. It still seems like yesterday when we ran into each other and we caught each other up on our family and friends that we had in common. Rob you will be missed. My prayers are with your family.

I remember a kid going through the neighborhood bouncing a basketball and thinking that's Don Lamar and Ed's little brother. Who would have thought? Some plant, some water but God gives the increase. The smile was infectious.

It is in our darkest moments that we must focus to see the light. The most authentic thing about us is our capacity to create, to overcome, to endure, to transform,to love ans be greater than our strength. I met "the Judge" in 1981 @ SWC Tournament in San Antonio. The score was (84-59)against Texas and Rob was MVP> I knew that day a star was born!
The Williams Family my prayers are with you all and may the Holy Spirit guide you through. Please know that when you feel like crying...cry. Tears are the silent language of grief. Those who weep recover more quicker than those who smile. When Lazarus died even JESUS wept. Earth has no sorrow that Heaven cannot heal. GOD BLESS......

Having been a Cougar Basketball manager in the 60's I had the great pleasure of meeting Rob when he was at Milby and while he played at The University of Houston. We got to be good friends and I always respected him for his passion towards the game of basketball. He'll definitely go down as one of the all-time greats and we'll never forget the man that was Rob Williams.

My condolences to Ashleigh and the entire Williams Family. Rob was one of the guys at UofH who had an electrifying smile. Whenever you saw him you were going to walk away laughing so hard at a comment he made. Your spirits would indeed be lifted. He was truly a down to earth person regardless of his status in life. He cheerished his daughter Ashleigh and those are long lived fond memories she will forever have.
I'm glad I attended University of Houston during that time of such greatness and moreso to be connected with Alumni's that have and continue to give back to the city of Houston. Until we meet again........
