Ronald Eckerman Obituary

Ronald Eckerman Ronald Ray Eckerman's journey in this life came to a close on May 11, 2014 in Houston, Texas after a year long battle with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. He was 62.
Ron, known to his close friends and family as "Ronnie", was born in Houston and spent over 30 years in Los Angeles, California.
He had a successful career in the music industry in concert lighting and artist management, and toured with many musical acts in the 1970's and 1980's.
His departure has left a void in the hearts of those who knew him and loved him. He will be fondly remembered and terribly missed until we one day join him in eternal life.

I'll never forget Ron taking time out of his busy schedule with Lynyrd Skynyrd to bring a PA system and Light system to Klein High School for our Battle of the Bands. He made us sound so good the other bands left once they heard us.

Ron, l was in a store earlier today, & l heard the song "HAPPY" streaming through the speakers for the 1st time in many years. Carolyn my heart goes out to you. When Ron was diagnosed, everyone prayed, everyone cared, and their lives continued as usual but YOU - your entire life came to a screeching halt and you gave up a career and time with your family to take care of Ron. We know what you sacrificed. Your daughter needed her mommy as her boyfriend had just died when Ron was diagnosed , but she selflessly allowed you to go and take care of Ron.
You could have continued working and hired a caregiver. But you loved him too much to be away from him to even go do anything fun or to get away for a minute.
Thank you so much for the Facebook updates to inform us about Ron's illness and the hilarious videos . I can't believe he remained a comedian until the end. Such a positive attitude.
Carolyn we know the main reason you kept us updated on Facebook was because that's the best way to inform thousands of people at a time to PRAY. I believe those prayers kept him alive.
Know that Ron is going to take care of you the rest of your life because you took care of him.
I don't know you that well but You made it clear one time that you don't talk politics or religion on Facebook but you don't have too because your actions and giving up a year of your life , giving up a job, friends and family - you don't have to tell us Carolynn you are what Jesus Christ was all about. May Jesus give you peace during this time of grief and know that He and Ron are watching over you. God bless!
