Ruben Cardona Obituary

Ruben Cardona, 58, passed away July 8, 2014. He is survived by his wife of 36 years Debbie, daughter Roxanne, father Antonio Cardona Sr., & mother in law Ofelia Diaz. He is preceded in death by mother Connie Cardona and father in law David P. Diaz. Also survived by 5 brothers, 1 sister, and numerous other relatives. Visitation will be held Friday, July 11, 2014 from 4pm-9pm with a rosary at 7pm. Memorial services will be held Saturday July 12, 2014 at 10am. Visitation and memorial will be held at Blackwell & Vazquez Woodforest Funeral Home. Cremation to follow.

Had you on my mind lately - I know you are in a better place! Went to celebrate Aunt Debbie's birthday and it was different not seeing you there physically but I know you were with us in spirit! I am thankful for all the memories we were able to share - camping, haunted houses, etc. but most of all your joking humor! We love you Uncle Ruben!

Uncle Roob,
You are a big part of our family we will miss you. I take comfort in knowing your pain is gone and you can run,dance and play all the instruments that made you happy! I thank you for being a Grandpa to our kids. All the Holidays, Birthdays, and BBQ s we as a family spent together are lasting memories we will never forget. I am glad we got to spend 4th of July with you. You had your own personal fireworks show by Faithy and we listened to Tejano music. We will be there and take care of Aunt Deb and Rox don't worry. Thanks for encouraging the kids to play their instruments and the importance of practice. We will be thinking of you, and reminiscing on the good times!

Uncle Ruben, it's been a little over a week since you passed and we still can't believe it. Though we know you are resting in peace and in heaven now there is still an emptiness felt when we are all together! You will truly be missed...but know we will see you again one day! I can't believe your gone, all our hearts are heavy right now. You were more like a brother than a brother in law. You have been in the family for so long. I was blessed to have you for 36 years and you were a wonderful husband and father. You always made us feel loved and secure.
