Russell Wolfe Obituary

Russell J. Wolfe, age 68 of Houston entered eternal rest on March 30, 2025.
Russell was born on December 27, 1956, in Kingsville, Texas, and he was always very proud to be a 7th generation Texan. After high school, he attended Texas A&I University and was a composer and musical artist of a theatre group that traveled and performed in Mexico. In the late '70s, he moved to Houston and began his professional career in the cargo shipping industry. He worked for several companies in the industry including Atlanticargo, Flota Mercante De Grancolumbiana, Rickmers-Linie where he was a CEO, Scan Trans, and SAL. In this industry he met and fell in love with his wife, Catherine. Russell and Catherine married in 1982, after only dating a few months and several years later had their only child Leila. After retirement, Russell focused on hobbies including playing guitar, listening to a wide range of music, doing ancestry research, and spending time with his family and cats. After a long battle with cancer, Russell passed away on March 30th in his own home, peacefully, surrounded by Catherine, Leila and his cats. We would like to thank Jody Reyna of Traditions Hospice as well as MD Anderson for their excellent care while he was sick.
Russell is preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Reed Wolfe.
He is survived by his beloved family, which includes his wife, Catherine Wolfe; daughter, Leila Rae Wolfe; father, Norbert Paul Wolfe (Diane H. Wolfe); and sister, Cathi Grace Clements (Dave Clements).
Visitation will be held Friday, April 11, 2025, 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm, at Felix H. Morales Funeral Home, Houston, Texas, with an evening service beginning at 6:00 pm.
A Committal Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025, 12:00pm, at Reed Family Cemetery in Rogers, TX.

I am very sorry to hear of Rusty´s passing. He will be truly missed by all us King HS pals. I have great memories of my friend. We went way back. I last saw him at a reunion when he rode his motorcycle to Kingsville. It was much fun.

Dearest Catherine and Leila, I was so saddened to hear about Russell. It´s been a long time since I´ve seen you all, and it´s been a long time since I´ve been in Houston. Patti (aka Pat) informed me. She said she had a lovely visit with you both. I pray that God will help you through this especially hard time. I´ve moved to southern Utah to be closer to my family. My prayers are with you both.

My deepest condolences to Russ' lovely wife and daughter as well as others who were very dear to him. Cathi & I are deeply saddened by Russ' loss and will be for many years to come. He left this earth way too early, and many will suffer as a result of his early departure. Although I didn't know him as well as many others, I knew him enough that he had a deep love for his parents, his wife & daughter and many other family members near & far. I loved his passion for music...it was always fun to see it on his face whenever we spoke on that subject. I wouldn't be surprised if he is up there right this minute already having joined a band shredding on a guitar right next to Jimmy Hendrix, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Duane Allman, Eddie Van Halen and Jeff Beck! Rest in peace my brother-in-law.
