Ruth Greenamoyer Obituary

RUTH ELEANOR (CHALMERS) GREENAMOYER, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away December 27, 2008. Ruth was born in Saskatchewan, Canada on December 26, 1924 to Hibbard Elmore Chalmers and Edith Evelyn (Bennett) Chalmers. She moved to the United States in 1956 where she met and married Robert (Bob) on May 17, 1957. Living in Houston, Ruth was active in Esther Circle and Silver Circle at Gethsemane United Methodist Church. She also enjoyed attending AARP functions of Bayland Community Center and playing cards and Canasta. Ruth will be greatly missed by her family and her many friends. She is survived by her husband Bob, her son Derek and wife Liz; grandson, Max Robert of Indianapolis; son Gary of Houston and her brother, William Robert and wife Helen of Summerland, Canada. Visitation will be Friday January 2, 2009 from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. followed by a Funeral Service, 11:00 a.m. at Gethsemane United Methodist Church, 6856 Bellaire Blvd. Houston, TX 77074. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Memorial Fund of Gethsemane United Methodist Church.

My Mother my best friend, you sure had a lot of friends and a lot of energy that we wish we had. Yours friends would call the house and now it is quiet now. You may me go to church now to see all your friends. Got me playing cards on Tuesday with yours friends. You where always happy to yors friends. Will you did have your hair done for one last time by me and at your service.

Ruth was a very special lady with our AARP Chapter 4418 and she always had a smile on her face and
had a special place where she could welcome the members and visitors at the monthly meetings. I will really miss her.
