Scott Pratt Obituary

Pratt
Scott Renfert Pratt, 46, son, brother, uncle and friend to all, died Friday, September 2, 2011 from Huntington's Disease. Scott was born on December 11, 1964, a date so unfortunately close to Christmas that his siblings always presented him with Birthday/Christmas presents. Scott attended The Kinkaid School, the University of Virginia and was graduated from the University of Texas, where he enjoyed being a member of the Phi Delta Theta Fraternity and the company of his fraternity brothers. After graduation from the University of Texas School of law, Scott was employed as a Deputy Agent for Legal Affairs of the U.S. Comptroller of the Currency in Washington, D.C. Scott was at his happiest when he later became employed as a Vice President of James E. Bashaw & Co., a nationally recognized broker firm. While working for JebCo, as it is known, Scott lovingly referred to his boss and brother-in-law, Jeb, as Jesse Bananasaw, a moniker which gave Jeb no end of delightment and laughter to this day. Scott was a long time member of the Kiwanis Club of Houston and served as a board member of the Periwinkle Foundation and the Houston Council on Drugs and Alcohol. In 2011, Scott retired from the financial services industry to concentrate on managing private family investments until his death.
Scott is survived by his grandmother, Alice E. Pratt, his mother, Anne W. Pratt, his brothers, Pito and Jody, his sister, Kimberly, and his sister-in-law, Catherine A. Pratt. Scott also had several nieces and nephew, all of whom he loved dearly, including Mason and Travis Bashaw, Shreve and Fletcher Pratt, and especially his goddaughter from Russia, Alexis.
The family will hold a private grave side service at a later date. In lieu of customary remembrances, Scott undoubtedlywould appreciate even the smallest donation to the Huntington's Disease Society of America, 505 8th Avenue, Room 902, New York, NY 10018 or www.hdsa.org.

We deeply miss Scott Pratt. We were privileged to live in the same building with Scott during his Washington DC stint with the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, and saw Scott often in that period. Scott was one of the sweetest people to ever live. We deeply miss him.
