Selma Hunt Obituary

SELMA EVELYN HUNT (SANDY), who was born January 12, 1918, in Rhame, North Dakota, passed away Sunday, December 14, 2003 at the age of 85. Mrs. Hunt was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard H. Hunt; and four brothers: Ted, Helmer, Melford and Rudy Hendrickson. She is survived by and leaves behind to cherish her memory; her sister Mardy Merwin of Hettinger, North Dakota; brother Earnest Hendrickson and wife Hazel of Desert Aire, Washington; and sister-in-law Elaine Hendrickson of Sturgis, South Dakota. Her five children: Patricia Eindorf and husband Helmut of Houston; son Bernard Hunt and Jackie Blade of Willis; son Terry Hunt and wife Mary Jo of Houston; son John F. Hunt of Montgomery and Deirdre; and son Thomas J. Hunt and wife Leda of Tomball. Twelve grandchildren: Rick, Dana, Brian, Tim, Michelle, Lisa, Jason, Dylon, Cody, Taryn, Zachary and Christopher. As well as twenty-three great-grandchildren. Sandy attended a rural grade school in Rhame, North Dakota. After graduating from high school when she was sixteen, Sandy attended business school in Bismarck, North Dakota, for one year. She then left North Dakota for Chicago, Illinois to pursue her true passion, nursing. Sandy graduated from the Norwegian American Hospital after four years; and was a registered nurse. She met her husband of 61 years, Bud, at a party where she took his breath away, because she was the prettiest girl there; (so Grandpa always said). They were later married in Ft.Worth, Texas, in 1942. Many kids, grand-kids and great grand-kids later, they lived happily ever after at their home on Lake Conroe. A memorial service to celebrate her life, will be held on Thursday, December 18.
