Shawn Ayers Obituary
Shawn's biggest love and gift was his 2 loving boys. They were the shining light from God to him and he truly gave all of himself to his wife and them. He was an excellent cook and a great coach to his sons sports teams. Shawn was a lifetime member of the HLS&R where he served on the Mutton Bustin Committee for many years. He was a good and devoted husband, father, son, brother, uncle and friend to many and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, June 22, 2013 at 11:00 AM in the Sanctuary of Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, 12955 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079. A reception will follow the service in Friendship Court on the church grounds. In lieu of flowers please consider contributions to the Ayers Children Memorial Scholarship Fund. Contributions may be directed to Dettling Funeral Home, 14094 Memorial Drive, Houston, TX 77079. Visit www.DettlingFuneral.com to leave online tributes.

We were crushed today upon receiving this news...We have known Shawn, Missy and the boys for a few years. My son became best friends with Hudson in pre-school and we enjoyed every minute with the Ayers family. Shawn was so full of life , it was difficult for he and I to stop talking to one another at the ball park or when watching the boys play. He was kind, friendly, always happy to see you . He lived life well enjoying his family most. His boys are spitting images of their wonderful father...Godspeed my friend , you will forever be missed and never forgotten.

I didn't know Shawn well as we just met this past Spring during our son's baseball season. He was such an engaging and nice guy who was always full of positive energy and enthusiasm. The world just lost a bit of it's brightness with Shawn's sudden passing. My heartfelt condolences are with his family and friends right now.

Shawn had such a warm personality. He was a wonderful Dad with Hudson and Logan; he was so involved in all aspects of their lives. Additionally, he was great with all the children as he was always one of the best cheerleaders when one of my children or other children he knew were competing in sports activities. Everyone knew that Shawn wished them well and was there to support and help. He will be definitely be missed.

We knew Shawn in college and he was such a Wonderful friend. Even not seeing him in 20 yrs leaves a hole in our hearts but remembering his kind spirit makes us smile. What a great guy. He will be missed so much. Our prayers go out to his sweet family.

Shawn has always been remembered as a wonderful person & friend. Although it has been over 20 years since seeing Shawn, it feels like yesterday that we were hanging out, watching him do stunts on his bike & riding horses on the bayou behind his house with the crew (Steven, Chip & Conn)...I will always remember him as being very funny, loving a good laugh and being so kind. It is all too soon that he has passed. My sympathy goes out to his family and friends.
