SIE CREECH Obituary

SIE LOUIS CREECH passed away peacefully at home on May 28, 2012. He was born on February 3, 1923 in Logansport, Louisiana to Jude Ogletree and Alla Dovie Creech.
Lou graduated from Logansport High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II with the Seabees Construction Battalion in the Philippines.
Lou was truly a self made man. Raised on a small farm near Logansport, Louisiana, he started his career in the pipeline construction business at the age of 17 and learned the business from the ground up. In 1954, he joined Texas Eastern Transmission Corporation (now Spectra Energy), an oil and gas pipeline transmission company founded by brothers George R. Brown and Herman Brown, and was transferred to Houston in 1958. Lou retired in 1985 as Vice President of Operations in charge of the expansion of Texas Eastern Products Pipeline Company to 4000 miles of pipelines serving customers from Texas to the central and east coasts of the United States.
He graduated from the Advanced Management Program of the Business School of Harvard University, and The School of Pipeline Technology sponsored by the American Petroleum Institute.
Lou and Gloria moved to The Woodlands in 1985 where they enjoyed their views of the lakes and golf course.
Lou was a family man, a smart businessman with an excellent sense of humor. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing and being outdoors. He was a member of the American Petroleum Institute, Masonic Sunset Lodge 438 F & AM, Willow Meadows Baptist Church and The Woodlands Country Club where he was the Men's Senior Golf Club Champion.
He is preceded in death by brothers Travis and Floyd, and sisters Nannie, Glaydes and twin sister Louise Woodfin.
He leaves he wife of sixty-five years, Gloria Ann Golden Creech, son Stan Creech and wife Gail of Houston, grandson Stayton Creech, wife Rose, great granddaughter Sloane and great grandson expected in September of Greenwich, Connecticut and grandson Jason Creech of San Francisco, California.
A memorial service is set for 4:00 P.M., Wednesday, May 30, 2012 in the Chapel at Forest Park The Woodlands. Prior to the memorial service, the family will have gathered for a private graveside service at Forest Park The Woodlands Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Lou's memory to the M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, Texas 77210, www.mdanderson.org/gifts, or to the charity of one's choice.

I worked with and for Mr. Creech starting in 1979. I enjoyed the experience, and I thought he was a good man to know. He always treated me well, and long ago, I considered him a friend. He will be missed.
