He was a delight and a great friend to have and be with. Knowing him enriched my life. He always smiled and had only positive things to say - and made others around him always feel good. When Conrad came into his life, he told me how he felt fullfilled and happy. I will miss him. My deepest symapathies go out to Conrad and to Stephen's family.

I was shocked to hear that Stephen had passed on.Even though i live far away,i lived in houston once for a short time. I met stephen through my friends Vernon and Greg who have known Stephen for almost 15 years now. The last time i seen him was a year ago at the jocks and dresses benefit he was hosting. Just wanted to send my condolences to his family and many friends.

I am stunned and deeply saddened by this terrible news. Stephen was a loving and gentle man who contributed to many wonderful memories of my years in Houston. But most of all, he loved our Conrad, which was the most important thing to me! Conrad, my heart breaks for you today. Please be in touch when you feel up to it. I'm there in spirit...

What a great friend you have been to me. We've known each other since 1989. When I think about the Montrose Softball League, your name appears at the top of the list. I believe the league is where it is today because of your dedication, commitment and love for the game and the league. What a leader you have been to all of us.
There is no doubt in my mind you have already started recruiting members up there for your new softball team. I can hear you now......."don't look at the ball, run, run, run!" Stephen, I will miss you deeply.

I know one day you will get to see Stephen again. You will be able to sit by him in that golden dugout above and cheer him on like you have time and time again. You are in my thoughts and prayers. Love you!

Those fabulously artistic and delicate caviar eggs sculpted by you!
Your amazing contributions to my wedding reception…even one last haul after the party was over to get extra plates for us!
Dancing with you at the reception – I’ll always have that picture in my head!
Garage memories grilling at Margaret’s engagement party!
The Fredericksburg refrigerator tour and prep!
And the memories go on…
You’ve always been in front of and behind the scenes in our family. We’re going to miss you more than you know. Conrad, you’ve also been a part of many of these memories, and our thoughts are with you and the rest of Stephen’s family right now.

This is such a HUGE and tragic loss! Stephen, you touched so many lives and so many people loved you! Your smiling face and wonderful wit will live on in our memories! I've only met Stephen a few times, and he always made me feel welcomed. He made me laugh everytime I'm around him. I considered him a friend as well. He will be missed!

I knew Stephen only briefly because he was good enough to let me, and some others, play for him in the MSL this past season. His smiling jovial demeanor and easy-going attitude about coaching will be missed. I wish Conrad, Stephen's family members, and many friends the best.
