Stephen Zimmerman Obituary
1957-2017
Stephen Jay Zimmerman, D.D.S, M.A.G.D, passed away on December 29, 2017. He was born in Japan on December 31, 1957 to Dr. Stanley and Jane Zimmerman while Stanley was stationed there in the military, in the US Air Force. During high school, Stephen earned a black belt in karate and went on to teach karate for several years. After graduating from Bellaire High School, Stephen attended SMU where he earned both a BS and BA degree. He then attended the University of Texas Dental Branch in Houston, and upon graduation, he taught at the Dental School and started his own dental practice, the Zimmerman Dental Clinic. He went on to earn a fellowship in General Dentistry and a Masters in Dentistry. Stephen was loved by his family, relatives, his patients, and his dental office staff. The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to Julie Aldape for her dedication and support toward Stephen and his practice.
Stephen is predeceased by his mother, Jane Zimmerman, his brothers, David Zimmerman and Paul Zimmerman. He is survived by his father, Dr. Stanley Zimmerman, his loving and devoted sister Susan Zimmerman Rosen, niece Jennifer Jacobson (Scott) and grand-niece Penelope Jacobson, nephew Jeremy Rosen (Meghan), Scott Cornwall, uncles and aunts Alvin and Susie Zimmerman and Joel and Duane Zimmerman, as well as many cousins.
Graveside Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Emanu El Memorial Park, 8341 Bissonnet Street, Houston, TX., with Rabbi Roy Walter officiating. Contributions in Stephen's name may be made to Congregation Emanu El, 1500 Sunset Blvd., Houston, TX. 77005 or to the charity of your choice.

Such a great guy!! We talked magic, collectables, politics, and lots of stuff only we seemed to enjoy. Gonna miss our get-to-gethers. I bet he knows more about Magic now. He always listened and seemed truly amazed and asked questions that I could not answer. My last visit he gave me a silver bullet! I was looking forward to him visiting me at my upcoming gun show later in January. See you in Heaven!

I knew Stephen in his earlier years when I was teaching karate and judo with George Huebner at Godwin Park. Stephen was a great karate student and sometimes he would hide candy in my purse to surprise me. I have many happy memories of those days.
My sympathy and prayers go to his family at this difficult time.
