Executive HOUSTON
Stuart T. Douglas, 93, of Houston, TX and Little Compton, RI died on May 26, following a brief illness. He was the husband of Dorothy Lane Douglas.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, the son of the late Walter Cooley Douglas and Dorothy (Topping) Douglas Bomeisler, his formative years were spent in New York City and Greenwich, CT.
During WWII, Stuart served in the U.S. Army stationed with an IBM Machine Records Unit. He retired after a 34-year career at IBM. Following his retirement, Stuart relocated first to Naples, FL and later to Mount Dora, FL. He acquired a second home in Nantucket, before settling into his house, "Pineapple Hill," in Little Compton more than 40 years ago.
In addition to his wife, he leaves a daughter, June Diffenbach of Concord, MA two sons, Stuart Douglas, Jr. and his wife, Jean, of Barrington, RI, and Andrew Douglas and his wife, Jane, of Little Compton, RI, six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by Barbara (Grosset) Douglas, his first wife, and two sons, Robert Douglas and Alexander Douglas.
Burial will be private, with internment at the family plot in Greenwich, CT.
