SUSAN NOWLIN WADE, 66, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 18, 2016. Born to Noveline and J.D. Nowlin in Houston, Texas, Susan graduated from Reagan High School in `68. Susan dedicated her 25 year career with Alief ISD to helping and serving those students who were less fortunate. Susan was a faithful and longtime member of Sugar Creek Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents and loving husband, Robert Stephen Wade. Susan is survived by her sons, Robert Jason and his wife, Mary and Aaron Kyle and his wife, Sarah; four grandchildren, Will, Whitney, Walker and Harrison; brother, James Rea Nowlin and his wife, Mary Ann; sister, Sandra Ellis and her husband, Jim; as well as numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Friends are invited to visit the family at the SouthPark Funeral Home Thursday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on April 21, 2016. Funeral service will be held on Friday, April 22, 2016 at 12:30 pm in the Chapel of SouthPark Funeral Home with Pastor Marty Mikelson officiating. Interment SouthPark Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made in Susan's name for FTD Research to UTHealth c/o Development Office-B.Henry, P.O. Box 1321, Houston, Texas 77251. Please designate the donation to Dr. Paul Schulz Research.

Dear Jason, Aaron & families,
I think of your mom so often and the impact she had on so many. I was just talking to Dan about a young man at Elsik that was labeled as mute. He came into our work program and your mom began working and coaching him at Ryan's Steak House and after 18 years he began talking . I know it was the interest in him and the prayers I am sure she prayed for him that influenced his desire to speak. He is just one of many students she helped!
I know you miss her and she was taken way too early but we all know she is with your dad and Jesus just where she intended to be for eternity! I hope you both are doing well keeping your parents memories alive for you children. Blessings! Jackie Boden

I knew Susan whenever I was a young girl - meeting her through my friends, Jack and Karl Nowlin. My prayers are with Susan's sons and the rest of the family at this time of sorrow.

I had known Susan at Helms Elemt and all thru Hamilton Jr High and Reagan High school. She was a very pretty and sweet girl. I spoke to her some years ago and she sent me some pics.

She had told me about her husband's passing as I had shared with her my losing my wife of almost 31 yrs back in August of 2003.

Susan, you are with Jesus now and I know are rejoicing with the angels.

It was always a pleasure to have met you and known you all those years.

I remember her well. She was awesome in school and I imagine she must have been just as awesome to those students whom she helped there at ALIEF I.S.D. Someone is lost if we don't know where that person is. We know where she is so we are just seperated from her temporily. Some day, when it's our turn tomake that trip, we'll get to see her again.
