Susan Webb Obituary

Susan Webb
12/30/1945 - 09/28/2022
On September 28, 20022, Susan Webb transitioned from earthly life to Eternal life with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was born on December 30, 1945, first child to parents Sam and Becky Ellison in Charleston, South Carolina. The family had roots in southeast USA. She was raised in Miami, Florida with siblings Pamela, Sammy Jr. and Bambi.

Susan was a very loving, caring, and supportive wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and confidant. She loved her family, friends and life. Being a nurturing mother and grandmother were her favorite roles in life. She always had kind words, compassion, and empathy for anyone, and a wonderful sense of humor. Her spiritual life was very important and she shared it with anyone. Throughout her nursing and nurse practitioner careers she helped many people.

Upon graduation from high school she accepted a job as a ward clerk in a hospital. The work appealed to her and she entered nursing school in Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami and received her nursing degree. Shortly thereafter she met and married Gabriel Dominguez, and to this marriage were born Tori and George in 1971 and 1973 respectively. Gabe became a pastor, and the family moved to Bay Springs, Mississippi. This marriage dissolved in 1990, and Susan moved to New Orleans for a year, then to Houston, Texas in 1991.

In 1992 she met Bob Webb. The attraction was mutual, and in 1995 they were married. Susan went back to school and acquired a BS Nursing degree and a MS Nursing degree from University of Texas Health Science Center, and became a nurse practitioner. In 1996 they bought a ranch in central Texas and enjoyed many weekends and vacations at the ranch. She enjoyed hiking, cook-outs, sunrises and sunsets at the ranch. In 2010 they bought a membership in a beach house near Galveston, which they enjoyed for the next 8 years. Topsail Island, NC was another favorite beach location for the whole family, as were Thanksgiving gatherings at sister Bambi's house in Washington, Georgia. Trips to National Parks in the west and to Calgary, Canada to see the Canadian Rockies were other favorite destinations. In 1999, Bob went to Moscow, Russia for an engineering assignment for four months. At the end of the assignment Susan joined him in Moscow for a week of touring historical sights.

In 2010 Susan was diagnosed with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The usual survival time is 5-6 years. Susan, however, survived another 12 years. She will be missed by the entire family, especially her husband Bob.

She is survived by husband Bob, children Tori Gebbie (John) and George Dominguez (Kay), siblings Pam Herz (David), Sammy Jr., Bambi Arnold (Mickey), grandchildren Ryan Dominguez, Sophie Gebbie, and Van Gebbie. She is preceded in death by her parents.
