Teresa Sandoval Obituary

Teresa Ann
Sandoval, beloved daughter, sister, sister-in-law, niece, cousin, best friend, and co-worker found eternal peace on November 10, 2011. She was born to Gilbert and Frances Sandoval on March 13, 1954 in Houston, Texas. Growing up, Teresa attended St. Theresa Catholic School and graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1972. Teresa was the personification of all that is good in a person: compassionate, fun-loving, positive, and had a place in her heart for everyone. Teresa loved to cook (especially barbecue), work in the yard with her plants, make trips to Lake Charles with her best friend Rena, watch Texan football, and loved all animals big and small. Her generosity knew no bounds and was always willing to lend a helping hand. She was employed as a Multi-Media Coordinator for the Houston Chronicle where she leaves many friends.
Teresa is survived by her mother, Frances M. Sandoval, her sister and brother-in-law, Sandra Sandoval and John Q. A. Johnson, and her beloved pets, Sammy, Izzy, and Leia. She is predeceased by her father, Gilbert A. Sandoval. She leaves a number of relatives and special friends behind.
Special thanks to all her friends and cousins who helped her during this time: Irene Strauss, Ruth Ruffino, Paula Salinas, Terry Martinez, Jo Ann Martinez, Tracy Patrick, and "little brother" Jody Parker, cousins Suzy Jernigan and Mary Helen Trujillo. Special thanks to the M. D. Anderson nurses and staff, who cared for Teresa during her stay: 10th floor nurses and staff: Ann Agu, Tameka Jones; 12th floor: Dr. Delgado, Dr. de la Cruz, Nurses Jian Zhu and Mary Joseph. Your kindness and compassion is greatly appreciated.
Pallbearers will be: Steve Garza, Russell Valles, Roger Torres, Richard Jernigan, Jody Parker, John Q.A. Johnson, Vicente Gonzalez, Carl Trujillo.
Funeral services will be at Pat H. Foley & Company, 1200 West 34th St, Houston, Texas. Visitation will be on Sunday, November 13, 2011 from 2pm to 7pm. Rosary will begin at 7pm. A funeral Mass will be said at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, 4213 Mangum Road, Houston, Texas at 10am, on Monday, November 14, 2011. Interment will follow at Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery at 1pm.

God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be, so He put His arms around you and whispered
“Come with Me
With tearful eyes we watched you and saw you pass away, and though we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating with gentle hands at rest; God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.
Teresa was a very happy person and such a joy to be around, God has a special place for her now...Kathy Sequeira Houston Chronicle

THE LORD DID NOT PROMISE
ALL DAYS WOULD BE BRIGHT,
OR PROMISE WE`D NEVER
SHED TEARS IN THE NIGHT.
FOR LIFE IS A MIXTURE
OF SORROW AND RAIN,
OF HAPPY TIMES,LAUGHTER,
OF SORROW AND PAIN
HE DID PROMISE ALWAYS
HE`D STAY BY OUR SIDE
AND NEVER FORSAKE US,
WHATEVER BETIDE.
I AM BLESSED TO HAVE KNOWN TERESA ALMOST ALL MY LIFE, AND THANK HER FOR BEING A GREAT FRIEND TO MY SISTER . MY PRAYERS GO OUT TO HER MOM AND SISTER AND HER FAMILY AND FRIENDS. ESTHER

What sadness...

We are all the poorer for not having Teresa's chuckle, her quick wit -- "Let me call you a whaaaambulance" (when you were feeling sorry for yourself) and her ability to share her joy for life with everyone around her. Teresa juggled a very tough and demanding job, while keeping her co-workers and her customers happy, with an unflappable ease and good humor.

Teresa's many friends counted on her unfailing ability to create a happy, joyful spot in their day while caring for other's more than herself. Teresas gifts: her ability to find a way to share her humor, her love for life, her love for her friends, her keen mind and her friendly spirit will be truly missed.

Cindy and I send our deepest sympathy and prayers to Teresa's family, friends and co-workers while we all struggle to deal with the loss all of Teresa.
