I will always remember Mr. Tom as a gentleman who took care of his Hunt Petroleum employees. My dad, Carl Craig always spoke proudly of his friendship with "Tom" as a Hunt employee for 33 years. I experienced his loyalty for 28 years. Mr. Tom always made you feel that you as a field employee were important to the Hunt organization. A true gentleman & respected oilman he will be truly missed by all of his LaSalle Parish guys in Louisiana. Allen Craig

Tom will certainly be missed in the oil industry. During my working years for the Hunt Family, I could always depend on Tom for his support as well as his friendship. I extend my deepest sympathy to the family.

I am most grateful for the opportunity to have worked for Mr. Hunt at Hunt Petroleum Corporation...I can still hear hear him humming as he walked down the hallway between offices. What a blessing to have known such an amazingly gifted and generous man! Along with many other memories, his recipes for Filbert Cookies and Ginger Cookies will be a treasured reminder of him in our home. He will be missed and remembered fondly.

The Final Salute

“Brothers in Arms”, Military men and women down through the centuries, have traditionally exchanged “Hand Salutes” as a sign of recognition and as a way to render courtesy and respect one to another.

This “Hand Salute” is the last that we shall render to Thomas Myers Hunt our “Brother-in-Arms”. To his family it symbolizes the love and respect that we have for Tom. And to Tom it is rendered as a symbol of honor and gratitude to thank him for the devoted and selfless service he rendered to his country during WW-II while serving in the U.S. Army Air Corps. Tom, your WW-II combat record speaks for itself. We bid you a sad farewell. You will be dearly missed from among our ranks. Be at Ease. Rest in Peace.

On behalf of the 1,409 members of Lowe-McFarlane Post 14 of the American Legion, I extend our sympathies and our condolences to Tom’s family and loved ones.
