Todd Kaufman Obituary

Todd J. Kaufman
1969-2015
Todd J. Kaufman, 45, of Houston, Texas, passed away May 14, 2015. He was born November 28, 1969, in Houston, Texas, the grandson of Maurice and Pearl Kaufman, Leon and Sarah Daily who predeceased him, and is survived by his parents Barry and Judith Kaufman of Houston, his brother Drew, very special "kids" Cory and Mayer Levit; and his many aunts, uncles and cousins.
During Todd's professional career, he held roles in both the private and public sector yet thrived in his capacity within the law enforcement community. Afforded the opportunity to serve those around him, Todd's ambition was to champion those less fortunate and improve the quality of life of not only the public he served but his family and friends as well.
In addition to serving his local community, Todd was also committed to numerous charities and special causes which he held close to his heart. Whether through his civil service or his tireless volunteer work, Todd's selflessness and caring of others is what he will be remembered for most.
In addition to his charitable work and career, Todd will also be remembered as a consummate and loyal friend who never missed an opportunity to help those close to him. Whether joining them at a sporting event, one of his favorite restaurants or just lending a helping hand, Todd is someone who will forever be thought of as a caring and dependable friend.
A memorial service will be held (today) Sunday, May 17, 2015, at 3:30 p.m. at Temple Beth Israel, 5600 N. Braeswood Blvd, Houston, Texas, following a private burial. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Special Olympics Texas at 7715 Chevy Chase Dr. Suite 120, Austin, Texas, 78752; the Make-A-Wish Foundation at 12625 Southwest Freeway, Stafford, Texas, 77477; The 100 Club at www.the100club.org, or charity of your choice are appreciated.

Judith and Barry, Though we haven't seen you in a very long time, we think of you often and keep up with you through Ellen and Barry Hyman. There are no words to console parents for the loss of a child. But please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you. The love and caring you have always showed your family and friends make you two very special people. We hope that the return of that caring offers some small comfort to you at this terrible time. Love, Pat and Jack Balser

My heart broke in half today when I got the call about Todd. I didn't believe it. I grew up with you guys, watched Fast Times At Ridgemont High with T and D when our parents went to dinner. This isn't supposed to happen. So fast forward 3 decades or so and I am asking the same questions that I am sure all of us are asking right now. All I know is that I LOVE my memories of Todd's laugh, and I am going to hang on to that forever, because that rascal had a way a of laughing that sticks with ya. And I choose keep THAT memory. I suggest we all keep that little something EXTRA special to put the REST in perspective....
I am so sorry for your loss. You are truly in my prayers.
Love,
Cathy Mace Frietsch
