William (Bill) Henry Hoffman, III went to rest with His Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 11, 2015. Born on January 3, 1953, in Petoskey, Michigan, Bill was a loving husband, father, grandfather and son.
Bill graduated from Westchester High School in 1971 where he was a proud member of the football team.
Bill graduated from The University of Texas at Austin where he met the love of his life, Paula. They were blessed with two children, John and Liz and two grandchildren, Lillian and Evelyn. Bill especially loved family holidays, fishing trips, family vacations and attending UT football games with his family.
Bill had a successful tax accounting career. One of his proudest moments was passing all parts of the CPA on the first try. (This was not bad after dropping basic accounting class three times due to a heavy party schedule in college!) Bill continued his studies in the masters program at UT where he met many life long friends. His quick wit and intelligence served his clients well. He had been a partner in EEPB, P.C. since 1999.
Bill faithfully walked his faith with all he came across, especially in the last decade of his life. He was a member of Bear Creek United Methodist Church, a children's leader in Bible Study Fellowship, and a committee member of Cypress Young Life. He continued to minister in his last days at hospice to all who would listen.
Bill is survived by his wife of 38 years, Paula, son John and wife, Brenda; daughter Elizabeth Brown and husband Travis, grandchildren Lillian and Evelyn Brown, his parents Dr. William and Bonnie Hoffman, sister Bonnie Lynn and partner Susan Hoover, brothers Richard Hoffman, Thomas Hoffman and wife Carrie, nieces Samantha and Maggie, his mother and father-in-law, Maxine and Walter Krizov, and sister-in-law Clair Krizov. We wish to thank Vitas Southwest Hospice and especially Heather for the care given in these last weeks as well as all the friends who shared with Bill by texts, letters, emails, or visits.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, August 15, at Bear Creek United Methodist Church, 16000 Rippling Water, at 10:00 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Bill may be directed to Cypress Young Life, P.O. Box 691106 Houston, TX 77269 or BSF International at bsfinternational.org.
