Jaeger, Carol J.

Carol J. Jaeger, age 81, of Eagle River passed into eternal rest on Thursday, December 26, 2013 at Eagle River Memorial Hospital.

She was born on May 17, 1932 in Manitowoc, daughter of the late Locie and Inga (Olson) Foreman. Carol attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School graduating with the class of 1950. On November 7, 1953 she married Donald Jaeger in Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on January 8, 1995. Carol was employed as a bookkeeper, retiring from Schlei Drayline, Inc. of Manitowoc in 1994.

Carol was an involved member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc until her move to Eagle River in 2003, where she was a member of Shepherd of the Lakes Lutheran Church, Sayner. In her earlier years she enjoyed family camping trips and later travelling the country visiting with family. Carol enjoyed sewing and knitting making many items of special clothing for her girls as they grew up.

Carol was a kind and caring wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be remembered for her acceptance of others and her generous spirit.

Survivors include four daughters and sons-in-law: Bonnie DeYoung Smola and Joe Smola, Eagle River, Lori and Chuck Hunter, Sugar Camp, Wendy and Dale Borowski, Mountain Home, Arkansas, Penny and John Bialek, Manitowoc; eight grandchildren: Cassandra (Dean) Nemecek, Joshua Bellin, Justin (Kristy) Bialek, Chase (Laura) Hunter, Chado DeYoung, Cameron Hunter, Christopher Hunter, Nathan Bialek; nine great-grandchildren: Gage, Blake, Madison and Raegan Nemecek, Gabriel, Owen and Dylan Bialek, Ely DeYoung, and Caleb Hunter; one brother and sister-in-law: Jim and Karen Foreman, Omaha, Arkansas; and two sisters-in-law: Florence Foreman, Poway, California and Delores Jaeger, Manitowoc. Carol is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her sister: Barbara Drexler; one brother: Merlin Foreman and a son in-law: Walter DeYoung.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, January 2, 2014 at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Manitowoc. Officiating at the service will be Rev. Kay Richter with burial to follow at Evergreen Cemetery, Manitowoc.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, Manitowoc on Thursday, January 2, 2014 from 10:00 AM until 10:45 AM.
