Schultz, Charles J. "Chuck"

Charles J. "Chuck" Schultz, age 76, lifetime resident of Two Rivers, died peacefully Friday, August 29, 2014 at St. Mary's - Next Step in Manitowoc, with his wife at his side.

Chuck was born in Two Rivers on July 13, 1938, a son of the late Joseph C. and Mary M. (Lachowicz) Schultz. He attended Sacred Heart Catholic Grade School in Two Rivers and graduated with the class of 1956 from Washington High School. On October 20, 1962, he married Nancy M. Wachal at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Tisch Mills. He retired from Manitowoc Ice, Inc. in 2000, after 34 years of service.

Chuck enjoyed working as a referee of basketball, football & softball for many years throughout the county; he also played baseball with the Two Rivers Polar Bears, as well as softball fastpitch & slowpitch for many years. Chuck was a member of the Knights of Columbus - Council #1957 of Two Rivers, St. Peter the Fisherman Men's Club; and was a huge Wisconsin Badgers and Chicago Bears Fan.

Survivors include his wife, Nancy; two daughters & sons-in-law, Laurie and Bill Kiel, Jr. of Two Rivers, Kris and Russ Bartholomew of Kimberly; one son, Mike Schultz of Two Rivers; and four grandchildren, Nicholas & Matthew Bartholomew, Kerry & Kellyn Kiel. He is further survived by one sister, Judy Schultz of Manitowoc; a special aunt, Helen Lachowicz, Two Rivers; two sisters-in-law & a brother-in-law, Rita Zadalis, Two Rivers, Wendy Wachal, Manitowoc, Tom Wachal, Elmhurst, IL; and special friends, Ted and JoAnn Melanson, Two Rivers; along with several nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law & mother-in-law: Louis and Dorothy Wachal; a sister-in-law & two brothers-in-law: Karen (Walter) Hofmann, and Robert Zadalis.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, 3201 Mishicot Rd., Two Rivers. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be Rev. Tom Reynebeau, with burial in Holy Cross Cemetery, Two Rivers at a later date.

The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Peter the Fisherman Catholic Church, Tuesday morning from 8:30 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. There will be no visitation this evening.

Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th St. Two Rivers is assisting the Schultz family with funeral arrangements.

Chuck's family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the entire staff of St. Mary's Next Step for the loving care and compassion they provided.

Nancy, Lauire and Bill and family... So very sorry to hear of Chuck's passing. Please know that we are thinking of you and all your family. He was quite the man and we were so fortunate to have known him all through the years- whether at ICE functions, ball games, etc. He will truly be missed by many...

Hi Nancy, So sorry to find out about Chuck. So many thoughts of days done by, the Flemal softball team & when Chuck & Ted would serve mass at St Lukes & stop after for breakfast. It was my wonderful & fun years being there friend & coach. Bill Koch
