In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, James and Dennis Matthias.

Mrs. Matthias, I know this must be a time of great grief for you, but be at peace. The resurrection is not a myth like the tooth fairy. Dean was faithful to the good Lord for 73 yrs. and God is never outdone in generosity. For him life has not ended, it has changed. Trust and have hope.

Blessings to the whole family, especially my classmates for so many years, Mary and Buddy.

I will try to attend the Mass of Christian Burial, but at the very least know that all of you are lifted up in my prayers.

Brother Dean, rest in peace.
