Elaine Sadowski Obituary
Elaine M. Sadowski, age 80, formerly of 1240 South 24th Street, Manitowoc, passed away Friday, September 8, 2017 at Shady Lane Nurse Care Center, Manitowoc, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born October 20, 1936 in Manitowoc, Daughter of the late Ward and Anna (Piekarski) Valentine. Elaine attended Manitowoc Lincoln High School, graduating with the Class of 1954. She then went on to receive a nursing degree from Holy Family School of Nursing in 1957. On October 15, 1960, Elaine married Richard Sadowski at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Manitowoc. He preceded her in death on September 14, 1978. Elaine was employed as a Registered Nurse at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, for almost 40 years, retiring in 1995. She was an active member of St. Francis of Assisi Parish in Manitowoc and thoroughly enjoyed being a member of the choir. Elaine's lifelong passion was taking care of her family and will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law: Kevin (Jean) Sadowski, Manitowoc; five daughters and sons-in-law: Julie (Mike) Burkart, Kaukauna, Jean Marie (Don) Lallensack, School Hill, Jolene (Carl) Ketelhohn, Howards Grove, Linda (Steve) Greetan, Manitowoc, and Marcia (Tony) Lodel, Newton; 17 grandchildren: Ryan, Jason and Hailey Sadowski, Emily (Caleb) Brich, Maggie (Brad) Koch, Claire Burkart and her fiancé Garrett, Sam Burkart, Kayla and Karlie Lallensack, Lukas, Alyce and Sadie Adams, Amanda (Rick) Harris, Danielle Greetan, and Wesley, Hayden and Chloe Lodel; two great-grandchildren: Easton and Finley; and one brother and two sisters-in-law: Robert (Marie) Valentine, Manitowoc, and Gertie Sadowski, Manitowoc. She is further preceded in death by her infant son: Samuel Sadowski; one loving sister and two brothers-in-law: Vivian (Edward) Keehan and Simon Sadowski; and her father-in-law and mother-in-law: Sam and Hilda Sadowski.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Noon on Saturday, September 16, 2017 at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall (1114 South 21st Street), Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Doug LeCaptain. Burial will take place at Calvary Cemetery, Manitowoc.
The family will greet relatives and friends from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday evening, September 15, 2017 at the Pfeffer Funeral Home (928 South 14th Street), Manitowoc, where a prayer service will be held at 7:30 p.m. The visitation will continue Saturday morning, September 16, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at St. Francis of Assisi on Marshall (1114 South 21st Street), Manitowoc.
