Joseph Kowalski Obituary
Manitowoc - Joseph F. Kowalski, age 92, a lifelong resident of Manitowoc, died Tuesday afternoon, February 6, 2018 at River's Bend Health & Rehabilitation Center, Manitowoc.
Joseph was born on January 27, 1926 in the town of Gibson, son of the late Frank and Anna (Wrublewski) Kowalski. He was a graduate of Mishicot High School. Joseph served in the United States Merchant Marines during World War II and then served in the United States Army during the Korean War. On June 10, 1950 he married the former Virginia Catherine "Ginny" Behrmann at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. She preceded him in death on November 30, 2011. Joseph was employed at Burger Boat Company as a plumber for 22 years until his retirement in 1988. He enjoyed walleye fishing and dancing in his younger days with his lovely wife. Joseph volunteered for the Red Cross for 15 years and was an avid Milwaukee Brewer and Green Bay Packers fan.
Survivors include one sister: Josephine Nehring, Mishicot. Nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was also preceded in death by one sister and two brothers-in-law: Victoria & Harold Debauche, Norman Nehring and one sister-in-law and brother-in-law: Gladys and Lee Gruber.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand Avenue (1416 Grand Avenue) Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Doug LeCaptain with entombment at Knollwood Mausoleum, town of Kossuth.
The family will greet relatives and friends at St. Francis of Assisi on Grand Avenue (1416 Grand Avenue) Manitowoc, from 10:00 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018 until 10:45 a.m.
