Schroeder, Kenneth

Kenneth E. Schroeder, 76, of Ashwaubenon, passed away on Saturday, June 27, 2015.

He was born on March 5, 1939, in Glenmore, WI, to the late Milton & Gertrude (Brandenberg) Schroeder. Ken's dad passed away when Ken was 5. His mother married Joe Frelich, and he became his dad.

Ken was a graduate of Denmark High School.

He married Judy Dugan on November 25, 1967 at St. Mary's in Clarks Mills.

Ken worked for John Peterson Construction as a basement builder for 17 years. He later worked for the Village of Ashwaubenon for 24 years, retiring in 1998.

Ken was a member of the Loyal order of the Moose. He enjoyed watching stock car racing, was an avid Green Bay Packer and UWGB Fan, enjoyed watching and playing all sports, woodworking, and listening to polka music on Sunday mornings.

He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Judy Schroeder; siblings, Dick Schroeder, Steve (Peggy) Frelich, Dennis (Jackie) Frelich, Larry Frelich and Barb (Larry) Cavil; sisters-in-law, Dotsie Nate, Eunice Wusterbarth and Joyce Braun; brother-in-law, Joe (Micki) Dugan; many nieces and nephews; and his "adopted family" John and Rebecca Klein and their children, Sarah, Kate, Hannah, Gavin and Matthew who referred to him as "Papa Ken"; godchildren, Matt Frelich and J.D. Dohnal.

He is preceded in death by his parents and grandparents; brothers-in-law, Tom Nate, Bud Wusterbarth and Dick Braun; sister-in-law, Gerri Schroeder.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 1, 2015 Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 South Oneida Street, from 5:00 p.m. until the Vigil Service at 7:30 p.m. and continuing on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church, 2270 South Oneida Street, from 10:00 a.m. until the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with the Rev. John H. Harper officiating. Entombment will be at the Allouez Catholic Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Aurora at Home especially Marci, Terri, Mary and Sadie for their care and concern for Ken. Also, a special thank you to close friends, Dick & Karen Dohnal and neighbor, Gary Simoens.

Judy, Sharon and I are so sorry to hear of the passing of Ken. I know this is a time of grief for your entire family but rest assured Ken is now with the angels.
