Marion Fisher Obituary

Marion D. Fisher, 95

Marion D. Fisher greeted her Savior with a smile and embarked on her next adventure March 26, 2025, one month after a joyful celebration of her 95th birthday with her extended family.

Marion was born to Helen and Norman Drewsen 2/20/30 and raised in the great north woods of Wisconsin where she developed her lifelong conviction in the healthful benefits of blueberries and venison.

In 1949, following one year at State Teacher College, Marion accepted a proposal from "tall, dark and handsome Mr. Right, who had a college diploma, car, and job with housing" to move to the mountains of Montana.

By 1958 they were settled in the house Charles built on the North Fork Road and the family was complete. Marion taught a private kindergarten for over 20 years while fine tuning her homemaking skills in sewing, knitting, canning, and eventually cooking, including the world's best pie crust.

In 1977 Marion and Charles moved into the relocated and remodeled "Half Moon" schoolhouse where she resided for the remainder of her life.

Marion was a devoted volunteer in many church and civic organizations including Columbia Falls United Methodist Church, Church Women United and the Klothes Kloset thrift store, where she will be remembered for her color coordinated visors.

Travel highlights included chaperoning the CFHS band trip to Europe in 1970 and touring Copenhagen in her eighties.

Family was Mother's greatest source of pride and joy. She was the undisputed loving, organized, practical and outspoken matriarch and the rock on which we depended. Marion was predeceased by husband Charles in 2007. There is much current speculation among the family as to her first words upon rejoining him.

She is survived by children: Jean Ervin, Judy Shafter (Gregg), Andy fisher (Karen), and Janice Fisher; 8 grandchildren; 18 great grandchildren with one more on the way; and treasured sister Ginny McNary (Robert).

She will also be greatly missed by her neighborhood lady friends of over 60 years.

The family wishes to extend our appreciation to the staff of Logan Health Whitefish for their excellent care and compassion; to Dr. Jeremy Jennings for many years of dedicated care, and most especially to eldest daughter Jean, whose years of love, care and companionship allowed Marion/Mom/Grandma Fisher to live in comfort in her home. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to the Columbia Falls Food Pantry.

A private family graveside service will be followed by a celebration of life at 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 17, 2025 at Columbia Falls Methodist Church, 117 2nd St W, Columbia Falls, MT 59912. To send online condolences, please visit www.columbiamortuary.com.
