Alfred Lightfield Obituary

Boise - Alfie was born in Vancouver, WA on September 30, 1942. After WWII ended, his family moved to Dupree, SD where they lived until 1950 when they moved to Idaho. Alfie went to Borah High School, class of 1960. In 1965, he began his construction and painting career which spanned over 3 decades. In 1970, he married Connie Edmonson and began their family with two sons, Darren, and Bryan. He will always be connected to the premier subdivisions in the Treasure Valley and McCall. Over the years, the family worked together and went on many adventures around the world. He never really retired as he worked even while on vacation helping anyone in need. Alfie and Connie "ALCO" celebrated 52 years of marriage this February.

Some of Alfie's proudest achievements, besides his two boys, were the log cabins he helped construct for his parents in Donnelly and in-laws in McCall during the early 1980's. The memories created at these properties were life changing for so many. He loved being in the mountains and was a true outdoorsman. Hunting, fishing, 4-wheeling, boating, camping, and snowmobiling with family and friends, were some of his greatest passions in life. His motto was work hard and play harder, which he lived every day. He explored all of Idaho and enjoyed whitewater trips down the middle fork and main Salmon River, cruising Payette Lake and using every square inch of West Mountain in all four seasons. Valley County was his second home.

A grand chapter in Alfie's life was his restoration of a 1955 Ford Crown Victoria Skyliner, "Miss Vicky", with the help of many friends and family. Connie and Al attended multiple car shows on the west coast and Canada where they won many awards.

In 1996, after travelling internationally and all over Mexico, Alfie and Connie, settled down and bought property in Apache Junction, AZ. There, they have spent their winters creating an extended family with lifelong friends.

Alfred was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred Sr. and Regina and his brother Georgie. He is survived by his sons, Darren (Lorien) and Bryan (Molly) Lightfield. Grandchildren, Emersyn and Brayden. And siblings Martha, Bertha, Robert, twin brother Albert, Ralph and Colleen.

In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Boise Rescue Mission.

A celebration of life will be scheduled early this summer in Boise. He will be missed by so many and would want us all to celebrate his legacy and always live humble and kind.
