Daniel Leigh Dossett, born July 22, 1939 to Gertie & George Dossett in Nampa, Idaho, peacefully passed away surrounded by family on October 21, 2017.
Dan served in the National Guard before going into the Air Force at Walker Air Force Base in New Mexico from 1959 - 1962. He was an Airman 3rd Class when honorably discharged.
Dan and Bonnie met through his friend on June 17, 1963. They went out again the next day and they were married the following day on June 19, 1963, and have been married for 53 years.
He was blessed to be able to make several trips east with Bonnie and his siblings to family reunions. They had a great time seeing the family tree. Dan also loved fishing and went as often as he could and especially enjoyed the times when his children could join him.
Dan reflected on the people he worked with over the years that played an important role in his life. He worked for NAPA for many years in Meridian & Nampa, and he appreciated the farmers and their families. A special thank you to Dave and Cindy at Canyon Storage for all their support and generosity where he was currently working.
Dan is survived by his beloved wife Bonnie and dog Mac; his children: Eric (Melanie), Amy, Kevin (Scott), & George; and numerous nieces & nephews.
Surviving siblings: Laura Wallace, Dorothy Ernest, Lloyd Dossett, and Carolyn Allen. Surviving grandchildren: Caitlin Sue Dossett and Logan Dossett.
Siblings who preceded him in death are: Bob Dossett, Evelyn Esterline, George Dossett, and Jim Dossett. He was also preceded in death by grandson Cody Dossett.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 25, at Boise Valley Church of the Brethren, 4701 Star Rd in Meridian. Burial will be immediately after at Lower Fairview Cemetery. Reception will follow, back at Boise Valley Church of the Brethren.
