Debra Murphy Obituary

Garden City, Idaho - Debra (Debbie) Lynn Murphy, 69, was born on Saint Patrick's Day, March 17th, 1953 to Clifford and Mary Murphy, a lucky day for an Irish girl.

Debbie's parents were born and raised in the Boise Valley. After their first child, they moved to Oregon where Debbie was born in Prairie City. A younger brother and sister were also added to the family in Oregon. As a child, Debbie loved trips to Grandma Harris's farm in Boise where she spent time doing her favorite things, playing outdoors and riding horses.

When Debbie was thirteen, the family moved back to the Boise Valley. She went on to graduate from Capital High School. She spent the remainder of her life in the Boise area where she had many friends and lived a lively and colorful life.

Debbie enjoyed many pets in her life. Her last beloved pet was a bobtail kitty named Fuzz, who comforted her during her battle with breast cancer.

Friends and family were an important part of Debbie's life since she did not have children. Her siblings Claudia, Cecil and Myla shared their faith in Jesus with her and helped her in her struggles many times. Pastor Tom Blackburn and his wife Ginger, had a big impact on Debbie's life. Ginger called Debbie daily to encourage and pray with her, and her 90+ year-old friend, Gladys, took her to church. The passing of Ginger and Gladys deeply affected her.

Debbie is preceded by her father Clifford Earl Murphy. She is survived by her mother Mary Belle (Harris) Murphy, and siblings Claudia (Stan) Hopper, Cecil (Bea) Murphy, and Myla (Emmet) Dalton. She is also survived by 3 nephews, 6 nieces, 6 great-nephews, and 5 great-nieces. On the Murphy side, she is survived by several aunts and dozens of cousins, and on the Harris side, by her uncle Jesse (Dyan) Harris and 7 cousins.

Deb, hearing that you have passed on from this world without us saying goodbye, I have no words I'm numb have been for awhile. I find comfort knowing you are not in pain but I don't know which is worse pain has been constant for several years for us both. I'll miss you you are my (sister) friend doesn't describe the bond we had for over a half century plus a few years. I pray we meet again when it's my turn to depart this world. I've dreaded this day would come over the years I honestly couldn't imagine living without you and here we are. I lost a big piece of me losing my son and numerous others and I just lost another piece. You were a big piece an important piece me making a life long decision at age 15 in honor of you and for myself. The beginning of a life long bond began and through it all you are still my (sister) and friend!!! We've managed to pull through some tough obstacles but the world has grown a little dimmer once again. The hard part now is healing our broken hearts and letting you go, I love you more than words can say.....
Rest easy Debbie until we meet again....

Debra, I am so happy she came into my life, she brought many smiles when I had tough times. She's loving, giving ,a true sincere friend. She will be missed each and every day of my life. I can still hear her laughter and feel her love for people. She opened my eyes to love all you can now. Today. She took my heart with her but I can promise it's in good hands. Rest in peace my dear friend
