Dennis Oliveira

Dennis Anthony Oliveira of Nampa, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010, in his city of residence.
Born in South San Francisco, Calif., on June 23, 1946, to Ernest and Agnes Oliveira, Dennis attended Edgemoor High School where he played football and contributed to the school newspaper.
An avid hot rod enthusiast, Dennis combined his love for cars with his considerable artistic talents to become an award-winning autobody technician who specialized in painting and refinishing. Published in national automotive magazines, his work spanned more than four decades and included the ongoing restoration of his own '57 Chevy.
Dennis was also passionate about motorcycles, and had recently completed the refurbishment of a vintage Harley Davidson. He was an experienced rider who enjoyed long-distance rides and was an enthusiastic supporter of the Idaho Motorcycle Awareness Program.
He had earned a brown belt in karate and enjoyed hunting and fishing. Dennis chose to live out his last two decades as a resident of Idaho.
He was known for his sharp wit, his sense of humor, and his all-encompassing love for family and friends.
Dennis is survived by his daughter Dawn Wickham and her husband Derek; son Jason and his wife Serena; granddaughter Marissa; brother Arnold Michael and his wife Jennie; sister Rosalee Ann Stone; and brother Lawrence David.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother John Douglas.
A public memorial service will be held in his honor on Saturday, Aug. 14, at 1 p.m., at the Nampa Civic Center. Cremation services were provided by the Zeyer Funeral Chapel, Nampa. 467-7300.
