Donald Page Obituary

Emmett - Our dad, Donald Ivan Page, passed away on November 27,2022. He was born in Brushy Knob, Missouri, to Jack and Hazel Page on September 23, 1931, the fourth of seven children. Dad grew up in the "hollers" of Missouri, herding cows, breaking horses, and hunting; the latter of which followed him throughout his life. He met our mother, Jody (Neva Herd), when she was 5 years old. They grew up together and married on May 3, 1951, a love story for the ages that lasted 71 years. They had four children; as dad would say, three queens and a jack (3 daughters and a son).

Dad worked at many sawmills in Oregon, Idaho, and Montana before he started Don's Recycling in 1988 in Emmett, Idaho. Dad would work during the week and hunt during the weekend and there were always as many dogs in our home as children. After he sold his business, hunting became his number two passion, our mom being number one. When Don Page pulled up at bear camp in his little white pickup with his dogs and his guitar, everyone knew he would be singing around the campfire and it would be a one of a kind experience.

Dad had such wonderful friends, many of whom shared his love for hunting and in the last couple of years with his health failing, proved to be loyal. In lieu of a service now, we are planning a celebration of his life, hosted by his son Jerry Page and grandson Dakota Jenkins. This will be held on Pine Creek at "Pageville" on May 27, 2023 and we will put a notice in the paper prior to the gathering.

Our dad was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, three sisters, and a great grandson. He is survived by his wife, Jody, daughters Donna Gibbons (Wade), Debbie Todd (Tom), Brenda Slagel (Steve) and son Jerry Don Page (Ann), 15 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, and 19 great, great grandchildren.
