ELAINE DARLINE GIBSON

1937 - 2025

MERIDIAN - Elaine Darline Gibson, 87 of Meridian Idaho passed away on September 17, 2025. Elaine was born 9/29/37 in Griswold, Iowa and was the oldest daughter of Fred and Rowena Krisinger.

Elaine grew up in Griswold Iowa and graduated from Griswold High School in 1955 where she played the french horn in the band and played basketball. Elaine grew up in a small farming community where everyone worked hard with a strong work ethic.

When Elaine was in high school, she met Larry Gibson of Walnut Iowa and soon married and enjoyed a 69 year long marriage. Their married life began in Minneapolis MN, and soon moved to Peoria Illinois where they began their family together welcoming their two sons.

They relocated several times for work taking them from the midwest to the western states of Arizona, California, Washington and Idaho. With each relocation, Elaine found the best those cities had to offer. With new friends and new work opportunities, Elaine enjoyed her work including real estate, advertisement, jewelry and others she thoroughly enjoyed. Elaine also loved decorating for the holidays welcoming friends and family.

After experiencing breast cancer in 2001 while living in Seattle, Elaine survived that challenge with the help of the medical field, her faith, and an organization at that time called Angle Care Breast Cancer Foundation. They provided confidential, personal support to those newly diagnosed with breast cancer. All the volunteers were breast cancer survivors. Elaine joyfully joined thier team to provide loving care to others. After moving to the Boise area, Elaine was instrumental in helping the Boise chapter of Angel Care align with the Susan G Komen organization. Elaine was literally the "poster child" of Angel Care (Susan G Komen) as you could see her on several billboards throughout the area promoting breast cancer care. Elaine was involved in numerous fund raisers and awareness events on the radio and television during the time she volunteered her time and energy.

Elaine enjoyed being a grandmother, cooking, gardening, entertaining, traveling, friends, family and her faith. Seattle just might have been her favorite as you could always hear instrumental jazz music throughout their homes. She loved to be around people and have a good time.

Elaine was preceded in death by her parents Fred and Rowena Krisinger, her brothers, Gilbert and Stanley Krisinger, and sister Debra Knop.

Elaine is survived by her husband Larry Gibson, her two sons Bud, (Cheryl), Tyler, (Anita), her four grand children, Bridgette Gibson (Rich Prescott), Max Gibson, Marlo Simpson( Jason), Janell Sailor (Matt) four great grand-children Alli and Logan Simpson, Ainsleigh and Hope Sailor, three sisters-in-law Marylyn Krisinger, Joan Sperry (Walt), and Lyla Masur (Wayne). Elaine has numerous nieces and nephews.

Elaine's memorial service will be held on October 25, 2025 at 4:00PM at the Cloverdale Funeral Home. 1100 N Cloverdale Rd. Boise Idaho. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to any organizations fighting Alzheimer's, dememtia or breast cancer.
