Eula Cole Obituary

Eula M. Cole, 82, of Kuna, passed away at a Boise hospital on Saturday, June 16, 2007, surrounded by loving family. A Memorial Service to honor and celebrate her life will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, June 22, at the Kuna United Methodist Church, 260 W. 4th. Inurnment will follow at the Kuna Cemetery. Services are under the direction of the Alsip & Persons Funeral Chapel, 404 10th Ave. S., Nampa, 466-3545.
Eula M. Cole was born on Oct. 5, 1924, in Kuna, where she was reared and graduated from Kuna High School. She attended Business College in Nampa. She married Ralph Cole in 1943 in Kuna where they made their home. She was employed at the Boise-Kuna Irrigation District for 28 years. She enjoyed music, especially the organ; reading and cooking. She was well known for her hot crossed buns, cinnamon rolls, cream puffs and making candy and cookies at Christmas. Eula and her husband Ralph were involved in Good Sams. She was a member of a pinochle group for a number of years. She was a member of the Kuna United Methodist Church. Her husband preceded her in death in February of 1999.
Eula is survived by her three children and their spouses, Michael "Mick" and Vicki Cole, Boise, Connie Cole-Craven and Stan Craven, Eagle and Linda and Ted Kimura, Nampa; six granddaughters, Julie, Jill, Karin, Alissa, Cori and Erin; and 14 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Lois and Betty and a brother, Jack.
Our mom had an incredibly independent spirit. And, although life brought many challenges, she faced them with determination, quiet strength and unwavering faith. She will always be our inspiration.
The family would like to thank Dr. Mary Gearn and the nurses at St. Luke's 4 South in Boise.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the W.W. II Memorial Processing Center, P.O. Box 305, Calverton, NY 11933 for the WWII Memorial in Washington, D.C., or flowers may be sent.

Eula was a very special lady and had a great sense of humor. I recall one Halloween, many years ago, when she made me a special "treat". It appeared to be a beautiful piece of chocolate candy, however, inside was a piece of boiled potato. I ate it with a straight face and said "thanks". The Cole family was one of the few that I would ever babysit for. They had great kids.

Dear Connie, Linda, & Micky,
I too have wonderful memories of your mother including her warmth and sense of humor. We had just renewed emailing a few weeks ago when she was diagnosed with diabetes. I will never forget the wonderful holidays we spent at Gaga and Grandad's, your Mom's cookies, and that special love she shared with the Southern love of her life. The McNutt ladies were all wonderful cooks! I so wish I could be with you today and at the service. I'm there in prayer and spirit. The sisters, Jan, Ralph and all who've gone before are celebrating and we have that precious hope of meeting again.
Love,
Ginny

I always felt that you were near to my heart even though the miles and mountains separated our homes. I so very fondly remember the times we chatted over coffee (your own brew, not our strong southern beans). You always listened so intently halfway grinning in appreciation of each story I had to tell. I always admired the love you shared with Uncle Ralph. I know that I often told you that you two were my favorite conversationist... I will miss our emails, but I know that you will hear my heart .... I know that you are listening.
And to my Idaho family, I continue to tell stories of our times together to my girls. Know that you all are in our thoughts and prayers at this time and always. I love you all.
