Faye Jamison Obituary

Faye Jamison, beloved mother, grandmother, and friend to all, went home to be with the Lord on Jan. 22, at the age of 90.
Faye was born in Ray, Colo., to Fred and Mary Kerns on Jan. 15, 1922.
She was the middle child of 12 children so she almost immediately learned how to take care of everyone and everything, and never stopped her entire life.
The family moved from Colorado to Star, Ida., when she was in the 8th grade, where she was exceptional at all sports. She graduated from Star High School in 1940.
Faye fell in love with Loyd Jamison, her next-door neighbor, and went on to marry him on July 15, 1940. They were married for 72 years. She and Loyd had four children: Shirley, David, who was still born, Dick, and Jerry. They had a wonderful family and a wonderful life.
Faye hit the ground running when she was born and never slowed down.
While living between Middleton and Star, she was a 4-H leader, member of Grange, helped milk cows, and ran the hay baler for Loyd doing custom baling when he was busy.
They moved to Nampa in 1953. She worked at the Idaho Free Press, baby sat several children, made clothes for women, worked at the Nampa Art Center Store, and decided to attend The College of Idaho all while she was taking care of her family. She even found time to play softball on the side. She and her family moved to the Franklin community in 1959. She graduated from The College of Idaho and started her teaching career at Franklin School teaching 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades.
She started teaching math at Valley View Junior High when it opened, and remained there until she retired. She received a plaque from the school stating that she was the "Cornerstone of the School". She was never too busy or too tired; and she helped raise most of her nieces and nephews and any other child that needed her.
Faye loved her flowers and garden and received many blue ribbons from the Canyon County Fair. She was on the Fair Board for many years.
Her parents, eight brothers, two sisters, two sons, and a daughter-in-law preceded Faye in death.
She is survived by her husband Loyd, sister Lois Peterson of Boise, daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Richard Robert of Star, Ida., son Dick, of Florida, eight grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and two great great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Children's Miracle Network or favorite charity.
Special thanks go to the Heart and Home Hospice of Caldwell, Country Time Assisted Living in Star, and Trinity Nursing Home in Nampa for all the loving care she was given.
She was a loving, caring, dynamo, and will be greatly missed.
A celebration of life will be held at the Franklin Community Church on Saturday, Feb. 4, at 11 a.m.

Loyd
I am sorry. I never got a card off to Faye when Max told me about her surgeries. I did not know your address. Faye was so kind to my mother. I wish you and your family all of God's blessings in your loss.

Yes I will miss my aunt and godmother . . . the woman who had as much to do with raising my dad as my grandmother . . . the woman who took care of me all of those summers I came to stay, sometimes for weeks . . . the woman who helped me, more than once, get through math . . . the woman who drove to Reno to see me play baseball and to Winnemucca to see me play basketball . . . the woman who put me and my dad up during all of those hunting seasons . . . the woman I loved dearly . . . yes, the woman I will miss so very much. It's time to return the favor dad, take care of her now, just as she had taken such good care of you.

Faye Jamison was the best! She was a great woman to look up to as a role model...kind, giving, funny, no nonsense, and practical. I was one of those "other" kids that needed her and years later were were still visiting at the NNU basketball games.

When I entered the eighth grade at Vallivue, I had just moved from the Caldwell School District. Attending a new school at that age was challenging, but Mrs. Jamison made it easier for me. I remember her well as a good teacher and I enjoyed going to her class. I still recall the day that she demonstrated to the class how to take a blank piece of paper and devise a personal check. She wrote the check from her own account. Then, just to be safe, she wrote the word "Void" over the face of the check. Still, it was brave of her to do that. My sympathies to all of her family.

Sorry to hear of Faye's passing....they don't make ladies like her anymore. She is a fond part of my childhood memories, every church activity, she was there, every school activity, she was there. When we got married, she was there. We will all miss her, but when we get to heaven, she'll be there!

I am soory to here about Mrs. Jamison.
I had her for my math teacher, when I went to Vallivue Jr.Sr. High School.
She was always there to help you when needed and she was someone you could to talk to. She was a great teacher.
