Gregory Hite Obituary

Star - Gregory Harold Hite passed into his heavenly home on November 26, 2023 after a year long battle with cancer. Greg was born on April 8, 1954 in Kenton, Ohio to Raymond and Marlys Hite. He attended CalPoly University Pomona where he received his degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.

After graduation Greg worked for a short time at General Dynamics before moving to Idaho in1981 to begin his career at Hewlett Packard.

Greg and Kathy were married in February of 2004. He loved living on their farm in Emmett, ID. Both Greg and Kathy enjoyed the open space and small-town atmosphere of Emmett. He was always able to find new projects to work on including a dirt bike track for himself and a BMX track for Camden.

Greg had a lifelong passion for adventure. In his younger years, he raced enduro motorcycles and later enjoyed motorbiking in the Idaho mountains. As Greg put it, "with age comes a cage," as he traded in his motorcycle for a RZR which led to many wonderful adventures on rides with friends and family throughout Idaho and the western United States.

Greg and Kathy shared a love of Jesus Christ and serving others. He described himself as a "Grunt for God". They were involved in many missionary trips around the world. They were blessed to be introduced to Global Vision Citadel Ministries in Mirebalais, Haiti and were able to travel to the orphanage many times and grew to greatly love the children, pastors, and workers there. Greg was in his happy place when he was in Haiti surrounded by the smiling faces of all the children.

Greg served as the president of GVCM until illness forced him to stepdown in December of 2022. During his time as president, God guided Greg as he worked along others to improve the orphanage's electrical system, farming capabilities for feeding the children, establishing a medical clinic, facilitating church growth, and increasing educational opportunities for the children at the orphanage and throughout Haiti's central plateau.

While at home, Greg and Kathy enjoyed spending quality time with friends and family. He was always ready to say "yes" to any invitation and entertained us with his humor, nerdiness and his joy for life.

Greg was the forever love of Kathy's life and her best friend, Kelly and Tyler's go-to guy and Camden's best buddy. He is survived by his wife of 20 years, Kathy Hite; their two children, Kelly (Nick) Fletcher, Tyler (Julie) Beach his grandson son Camden Fletcher; brother-in-law Mike and his wife Susan; sister Debby and her

daughter Heather Gregson; nephew and niece, Owen and Vera Gregson; stepsisters Sandy, Caren, Lisa and their families and his stepmother Caroline Hite. He is preceded in death by his father, Ray and mother, Marlys.

The family wishes to thank the staff at St Alphonsus Cancer Center in Nampa, the caring chemotherapy staff, front desk friends and Dr. Ian Quereshi, Jasmin, Annie and Jolie. They gave us so much love and support during our journey and we will love them always.

Greg's greatest love was Jesus Christ. He spent his life serving Him and showing others God's unconditional love. He truly lived the scripture his father gave him as child, Matthew 5:16 "let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."

A Memorial service for Greg will be held January 6, 2024, at 11 a.m. at Eagle Christian Church Central Valley campus. There will be a Celebration of Life and lunch following the service at the Star River House. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made in Greg's name to Global Vision

Citadel Ministries at www.GVCM.org.

I love Greg, I´m happy he´s no longer suffering but I´m sad that we are going to have to push forward on this side of eternity without him. He has been a tremendous friend and leader in my life. He´s a true warrior for the Lord! I will continue to stand by the Hite family and push forward the ideals that he inherited from the Holy Spirit. To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord.
