January 16, 1943 - April 9, 2019
Dieny, 76, of Caldwell, passed away on April 9 with family by her side.
Dieny was born in Utrecht Netherlands, to Jan and Renesta Scheerhoorn. She spent her younger years in the Netherlands, until she married Johannes "Hans" Van Den Brink. After the birth of their first child they moved to America where they had two more children. A few years later Dieny and Hans moved the kids to Caldwell where they have lived ever since.
Dieny and Hans celebrated 56 years of marriage in March. She will be greatly missed by her family.
Dieny is survived by he husband Hans, son Nick and his family (Levi, Jon, Twyla & Patrick), son Ed and his family (Shelby Foy, Justin, Kayla, & Dakota), and daughter Renesta (Bryan) Bittick and family (Ryan & Jordan). She is also survived by two sisters, Roellie Kragten, Engelina Smith and one brother Willem Scheerhoorn, and numerous great grand children. Dieny was preceded in death by three sisters and a brother.
A memorial service will be held at Flahiff Funeral Chapel 624 Cleveland Blvd., Caldwell on Friday April 12 at 2:00 P.M. Lunch will follow at the Caldwell Elks Lodge.

Dieny was my mother's treasured lifelong friend. She was special to me as well. She took the time to teach me to crochet when I was a child. She was a role model and had a great sense of humor. I will miss knowing she is just a phone call away. I know my mother was there to meet her when when the time came, she having gone just a few months before. Friends together in Heaven, so glad to have fulfilled their number of days and sharing in the joy that awaits all who believe (John 3:16). I will never forget your sweet voice Dieny. Your amazing accent. Your bravery. Your loyalty. I was so blessed to have you in my life. I look forward to seeing you again. Love Christine Heimbigner

I've met aunt Dieny a few times when she came back to Utrecht and visit, I hope she and my Mom are together again as sisters in the afterlife. My condolences to all who knew and loved her.

Mijn zus was in haar jonger jaren heel lief en heel handig maakte ook leuke kleding die ik pikte als ze niet thuis was kon ook goed knutselen maakte voor de zusje en broertje houte speel goed dat schoot mij op eens tebinnen , zij was ook een van een tweeling van daar de pijn die zij soms voelde , rust zacht lieve Dien
