Isabel Malacara Obituary

Isabel "Palane" T. Malacara
September 15, 1924 - February 13, 2014
Isabel "Palane" T. Malacara, 89, could no longer stand to be separated from his lifelong companion, Dora, and decided to leave this earth to reunite with her on Thursday, February 13, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
Isabel was born on September 15, 1924 in Garza Valdez, Tamaulipas, Mexico, to Timoteo Malacara and Maria Torres. He had five siblings: Santos Malacara, Margarito Malacara, Carlos Malacara, Rita Malacara and his sister whose name was undetermined. He married Maria Esparza in 1945. During their marriage, they were blessed with six children. Subsequent to Maria's death, Isabel married the love of his life, Dora Ruiz, on October 31, 1960. Together, they raised their 11 children, migrating between Idaho and various states, including Texas, Arizona, Oregon, and Montana, from the time they married until Isabel retired as a field labor crew leader in 1996. Isabel and Dora settled in and have remained in Caldwell, Idaho since then.
No one worked as hard as Isabel. He instilled such great work ethic in his family. He also taught his family humility, honesty, generosity and faithfulness. Isabel never hesitated to help those in need, regardless of his circumstances. Isabel gave unconditionally. Some thought that to be foolish, but we all know he is now being compensated in Heaven. Isabel had a great sense of humor, even up until a few days before his passing. He was always teasing and playing tricks on us. We never knew what to expect.
Isabel and Dora enjoyed their retirement years attending local bingo events, going to Jackpot, Nevada as they attempted to hit "the jackpot", and going to Texas for brief visits. Most recently, Isabel simply enjoyed going to Jackpot with Dora just to sit next to her and watch her play the slot machines. Spending time with their family, being a part of many family milestones, from weddings to new babies, to Baptisms, to First Communions, to high school graduations, etc. was most important to Isabel and Dora.
Although our hearts are forever broken to have lost such a great pillar in our lives, we take comfort in knowing that Isabel is now reunited with Dora, is free from any pain or suffering, and in the loving arms of God. We know Isabel and Dora will always watch over us as we journey through this life without them.
Isabel was welcomed in Heaven by his wife, Dora, his parents, all of his siblings, his son Oscar, his grandsons Gerardo and Orlando, his sons-in-law Gilberto and Santos.
Isabel is survived by his children Dora (the late Santos) Salinas, Francisco Malacara, Ofelia (the late Gilberto) Longoria, Alicia (Jose) Cortez, Rosa (Apolonio) Contreras, Connie (Ignacio) Salinas, Arturo (Consuelo) Malacara, Maria (Ventura) Albor, Isabel (Miguel) Hernandez, and Linda (Oscar) Baez; and numerous nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
We love you, Palane, and will forever miss you.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, February 19, 2014, from 5:00-8:00 pm, with Rosary Recital at 7:00 pm at Flahiff Funeral Chapel, Caldwell. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Thursday February 20, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. Burial will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Gardens in Caldwell.
