Jack Creager Obituary

Family and friends of Jack Creager are invited to share in the celebration of his life, Friday January 13,2012 from 1:00-3:00 at the Nyssa Senior Center, 316 Good Ave, Nyssa OR. Jack, 89, was born in Carbon, Tx to Harry and Emma Creager on September 11, 1922. He lived in many places in Texas and was known for his football prowess. Jack scored the first touchdown in Rice University's new stadium. After college Jack moved to the Torrence, San Pedro area of California. In 1947 he went to work for the Los Angeles Fire Department. Jack loved his job working on the fire boats. He married Fran Raiford in 1961 and they lived in Sunset Beach. Jack retired in 1976 from the fire department but not from life. They moved to Idaho in 1977 where Jack built the house they lived in. Jack found plenty to occupy his time, helping at the corner store, hunting, fishing and helping neighbors with their projects. He was always seen around town with his faithful companion Digger riding in the front seat with him. His biggest thrill was riding his motorcycle. He made friends everywhere he went. Jack left us December 3, 2011 at the Ontario hospital. His brothers and sisters; JC, Dee, Eloise and Butch have all passed.
Fran has requested that any donations be made to the Los Angeles Firemans Relief Assoc, for Widows, Orphans and Disabled Firemen - 4th floor 815 Colorado Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90041.
