James Shake meant a lot to his friends in The American Legion and the American Legion Auxiliary. He served faithfully as an officer in the Payette Legion Post 33, and as an officer of the Ninth District. He faithfully assisted the family members of the seriously ill and deceased veterans. He knew who to contact and the proper order of filing paperwork. He helped me and my family through that and I know James helped many others.
James was at most Post and District and Department of Idaho Legion events. He was excellent at welcoming attendees, keeping us on agenda, calming people, and identifying needs in the veteran community that we could help with. James is missed very much within the Legion.
James also had a very needed business - The Weedslayer - and he is missed very much by his customers as well.
I continue praying for his wife Kim and the rest of the Shake family, that God will comfort them and bless them as they remember all that James Shake meant to them.

Vary sorry to hear of the passing of Jim. When I think of Jim I always go to duck hunting first and apple picking second. I think Jim's duck hunting skills are legendary, after all he is the only individual that modified a perfectly fine boat into a duck hunting speed barge capable of outrunning any game warden on the Snake River.
