Jerry Hilton, 78, of Nampa passed away May 3, 2016 at a Nampa hospital. A graveside service to celebrate his life will be held May 13 at 11:00 A.M. at Kohlerlawn Cemetery Nampa, ID under the direction of Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. Jerry was born April 25, 1938 in Crane, MO to Gene and Mary Hilton. At a young age the family moved to Idaho settling in the Reynolds Creek area, eventually moving to Nampa where Jerry attended school. He graduated from Nampa High. It was there he met the love of his life Lola Simpson.
Jerry and Lola were married in June of 1961. Jerry joined the Army National Guard and was stationed in Fort Lewis, WA.
After moving to Nampa Jerry was employed at Meadowgold Dairy, Simpson's Building Supply, Contract Haulers, and retiring at age 70 from Nampa Meridian Irrigation.
Jerry loved the outdoors, wildlife, camping and Sunday afternoon drives. He was an avid hunter enjoying the time spent with his sons at deer and elk camp.
In later years you could find him at the baseball fields watching John play ball.
Jerry was a simple soft spoken man who never met a stranger. Jerry had a gentle soul and a heart of gold always willing to lend a hand to anyone in need.
Jerry is survived by his children Jeff (Jill) Hilton, Loree (Mike) Hilton- Spencer, Jodi Hilton-Mantz, John (Hillary) Hilton; 9 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; and Sisters Diane (Brent) Paynter and Debbie (Merle) Beckley.
He was preceded in death by his wife Lola; his parents; and twin grandsons.
We would like to thank St Alphonsus Nampa and Streamside Assisted Living for our Fathers care during his last days here with us. And special thanks to Liberty Dialysis Nampa for all the love and care throughout the last eight years. Dad loved you all.
A dinner honoring Jerry will be held following the service at the home of Jeff and Jill Hilton. All are invited to attend.
