Joseph Tycz Obituary
He attended St. Paul's Catholic School and graduated from Nampa High School in 1948. As a young man he had several odd jobs, working for Boeing Aircraft, Sears, as well as the family orchards, and owned & operated Joe's Beverage store.
Joe attended the College of Idaho and earned a bachelor's degree of Science in Biology, with a minor in Chemistry. He became a registered Medical Technologist and went to work for Mercy Hospital enjoying a 40-year career. It was a job he loved with all his heart.
He married Irma Allen in 1961. They made their home in Nampa where they raised 4 children. He loved working in his yard and garden, growing many kinds of flowers and vegetables. Joe and Irma could be found dancing every Saturday night at the Nampa Elks Lodge (where he is a Life Member). In his later years he loved to watch Lawrence Welk on Saturday nights.
He is survived by his wife Irma, his children - Cindy (Ray) Shervik, Tylene Tycz, Kevin Tycz, Diane (Kenny) Wroten, his sister Deloris McGoldrick and brother Eugene (Linda) Tycz, eight grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and numerous extended family members. He is proceeded in death by his parents Joe & Mary Tycz.
A viewing and visitation will be held on Sunday, February 26, 2023, from 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. at the Nampa Funeral Home, Yraguen Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 27, 2023, at the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Nampa. So sorry to hear of Joe's passing. I worked with Joe at the old Mercy Medical Center. I always enjoyed visiting with Joe and his wife Irma. He was a kind, intelligent man. My condolences to the family.
