Maetta James Obituary

NAMPA - Etta James passed away surrounded by her family at home in Nampa, Idaho on June 27, 2024. Etta was born in Hilsboro, Oregon on June 11, 1938 to Johnny & Lucy Bly. Etta spent her younger years in Oregon & California before the family settled in Nampa, Idaho. Etta attended Nampa schools where she met Harley James. They were married in1955. Etta & Harley were married for 50 years until his passing in 2005. Etta was dedicated to her family. She was kept busy providing support for her children, grandchildren & great grandchildren in their sports, 4-H, rodeo & various other activities. Etta was preceded by Harley, her parents, brothers Nolan Bly, Dale Bly & Roy Bly. Etta is survived by her children Mike (Rhonda) James, Steve (Shelly) James, Glenda (Jack) Bish, Ed (Mel Waltman) James, Nachele (Scott) Roberts, 10 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren & 1 great great grandchild. A memorial service will be held at 10am on July 12, 2024 at Alsip Persons Funeral Chapel. Interment will follow a Kohlerlawn Cemetery.
