Mary Davis Obituary
Mary Lou Davis was born February 27,1935 to Lawrence Lee and Lola Sue Johnson, in Eufaula, Oklahoma. Mary Lou was the eldest daughter in a family consisting of six sons, two daughters and 2 half-sisters.
Mary Lou was a 1953 graduate of Caldwell High School, and married the love of her life, Marcell Davis on September 26, 1953 in Caldwell, Idaho. Mary Lou and Marcell were both hard workers, settling in Middleton, Idaho where they were active farming, owning a small trucking company, and raising their family. Mary Lou was a dedicated 42-year employee of the Crookham Seed Company in Caldwell, Idaho until her retirement in the mid-90s. Mary Lou and Marcell were also the proud parents of three sons, Marshall Ray Davis (1954), Danny Wade Davis (1957), and Robert Marcell Davis, Jr. (1973).
Mary Lou was an avid sports fan, and never missed a game played by her boys. She also did her very best to make it to every sporting event possible with her nine grandchildren. If Mary Lou wasn't spending time with her kids and grandkids, she was sure to be found with her brothers, sister, and their spouses for a rousing game of cards on a regular basis. Mary Lou was also a devoted Boise State Broncos, New York Yankees, and Dallas Cowboys fan and was religiously following her teams to the very end.
Mary Lou Davis was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved husband of 52-years in December 2005, and all six of her brothers, as well as one grandchild.
Mary Lou leaves behind her sister, Peggy Daugherty, of Adrian, Oregon and her family consisting of her three sons, Marshall (Zane) Davis of Weiser, Idaho, Danny (Debbie Jo) Davis of New Meadows, Idaho, and Robert (Cherie) Davis of Star, Idaho. Mary Lou also leaves behind nine grandchildren, Jarid Davis, Jeremy (Jennifer) Davis, Dusk (Amber) Davis, Ashton Davis, Tim (Alyssa) Eiguren, Brooke (Chase) Conrad, Haily (Zak) Steele, CJ (Austin) Barnett, Katie (Garrett) Springer, six great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
Mary Lou's loving demeanor, sense of humor, and quick wit will be missed, but she is now surrounded by her loving husband, parents, and siblings in the arms of the Lord.
Services are under the direction of Dakan Funeral Home in Caldwell, Idaho. A public viewing will be Thursday January 18th from 5-7 PM at Dakan Funeral Chapel 505 S. Kimball Ave. In Caldwell, Idaho. Graveside services will be held Friday January 19th at 10:30 AM at the Middleton Cemetery 23660 Cemetery Road, Middleton Idaho
