Mel Lacy Obituary

Caldwell - Mel Lacy was born November 25th 1956 to parents Janice and Ralph Lacy in Boise Idaho with 4 siblings, Lynne Beutler, Sandra Hanley, Kaye Reich, Craig Lacy. Mel was married 23 years to his beloved and most dedicated wife, Debi Lacy. He had 5 children: Melissa, Matt, Rex, Adam and Nicole and 12 grandchildren.

As a child, Mel was known for his innovation and ability to create anything he put his mind to. Facing more challenges than most, Mel survived Thymoma cancer at the age of 34 causing him to lose a lung and his successful business, Lacy Climate Control. At the age of 49 Mel had a rare form of West Nile virus forcing him to be wheelchair bound. There wasn't anything life could throw at him that he couldn't overcome. Mel will be remembered for his many talents, his wisdom but most of all, for his profound love of God and family. He inspired many with his ability to take on the hardships of life with a smile and optimistic attitude. Mel was loved and adored by family and friends and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Mel Acree Lacy passed away on January 21st 2022. Memorial services will be held at The Caldwell Train Depot on February 5th at 11 a.m.
