Boise - Olive was born May 14, 1924 in Tide Lake, Alberta, Canada to Walter B. and Mary Belle (Ellis) Ellis. Her family moved to the Treasure Valley (Idaho) in 1927 prior to her 3rd birthday. Olive has remained in the Boise area ever since.
Olive graduated from Boise High School in 1942. She also took a few classes at Boise Junior College.
Olive was married on July 18, 1942 in Boise, Idaho to Byron "Bud" Thomas Taylor. They were married for 70 years before his death in 2012.
Olive worked at CC Anderson's downtown Boise before it became Macy's and The Mode Tea Room. Olive ran a Day Care from her home for several years, and also sold AVON.
She was a very talented Seamstress and made her children's clothes, created costumes and clothes for friends and family members and upholstered furniture. Olive was a Tole Painting Artist. She was also an incredible cook and loved to bless her family with their favorite food.
Olive enjoyed reading and educating herself on multiple topics. One of Olive's special interests was learning about medical procedures pertaining to caregiving. Olive taught Pre-School Sunday School classes for 20 years. Olive also enjoyed teaching Vacation Bible School during the summer for many years. Olive wanted people to know that she ALWAYS loved Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior.
Olive was a long-standing member of City Hope Church (formerly known as Central Assembly). When Olive could no longer attend in-person meetings she attended via online services. Olive attended several Boise High School class reunions.
Olive is survived by her sister, Bertha Carpenter of Meridian, Idaho and a brother, Jack (Marilyn) Ellis of Boise, Idaho as well as three Grandchildren Mark Taylor of Meridian, Idaho, Rebekah (Ken) Mayberry of Washington state and Lisa Booker of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho. She is also survived by her many nieces and nephews.
Olive was preceded in death by her husband Byron "Bud" Thomas Taylor on December 6, 2012, her son, Thomas "Tom" Taylor in July of 1986, her daughter Jeanette Kruljac in May of 2007 and her grandson, Greg Crosby on December 12, 2021.

There will be a viewing on Thursday, September 7, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Alden-Waggoner Funeral Chapel, 5400 W Fairview Ave., Boise, ID 83706.
