Ralph Henggeler Obituary

Fruitland - Ralph Rudolph Henggeler, firstborn son of Anthony N. and Mildred (Rudolph) Henggeler was born on July 29, 1936, at Holy Rosary Hospital, in Ontario, Oregon. In the early morning of April 19th, Holy Saturday, Rudy took his last breath surrounded by family who loved him dearly.

Rudy was a handsome, good, honest, loving man. He never had an enemy and, has helped so many throughout his life, never expecting recognition or reward. He was an exemplar of Christ-like compassion and generosity and we miss him so much already. However, we know his pain-riddled body is no longer and he is in the arms of Jesus, which he worked toward his entire life. Now we can all honor and celebrate Rudy Henggeler's life.

Throughout his 88 years, Rudy became a fixture in Fruitland, Idaho. After graduating Fruitland High School (1954) and Boise Junior College, he worked alongside his father, uncle, cousins and brother at Henggeler Packing Company, Inc., (second generation). Company is now run by third generation, Henggeler boys.

Rudy served in the Idaho Air National Guard and the Fruitland Volunteer Fire Department for many years. He was an ELK for 67 years. He was a Roman Catholic Christian since birth; was proud of Swiss-German heritage, Henggeler and Rudolph lineages. Married Jean Wilhelm (deceased). Married Lelah Hutchinson on June 2, 2001; with whom he acquired more families, including Langleys and Shirts.

Survived by wife Lelah Joy Henggeler, brother, Tony Ray Henggeler, cousins, Jerry (Dauna) and Bob (Winnie) Henggeler, Diana (deceased) Rudolph Nicholson (Tom), Ann Rudolph Ramsey (Jerry), Sally Rudolph Yost and many more younger family members; became to 2nd dad to Angela Hutchinson (deceased), Katie Ellen Knudsen (David). Grandchildren, Casey Hutchinson, Samantha Wellisch (Levi), Ellen Ray, Zeb, and Brihstow Knudsen. Rudy loved all of his families.
